We collect personal information about you including:

• Your name, date of birth, gender, and contact details (address, phone, email)
• Health information including your NHI number, medical history, current medications, allergies, ethnicity, and family medical history
• Information you provide when enrolling, booking appointments, or using our online services
• Consultation notes and clinical records created during your care with us

We collect personal information directly from you when you enrol, book an appointment, attend a consultation, or interact with us online or in clinic. In some cases, we may receive information from other healthcare providers involved in your care, such as hospitals, specialists, or your previous GP (where you have consented to a records transfer).

We collect your personal information to:

• Provide you with healthcare services and manage your ongoing care
• Communicate with you about appointments, results, and health information
• Meet our legal obligations, including reporting requirements under New Zealand health legislation
• Respond to queries and manage disputes
• Improve the services we provide

We may also contact you with information about our services. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us at hello@wecarehealth.co.nz.

WeCare uses AI to support the delivery of our services, including administrative tasks, clinical triage, care protocols, and documentation. AI does not diagnose, prescribe, or make clinical decisions. All care decisions are made by a registered WeCare clinician, who reviews any AI-supported clinical output before it reaches you.

Some of our systems are operated by third-party technology providers whose infrastructure is located overseas. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information and are required to handle it in a manner consistent with New Zealand privacy law. Your clinical and administrative information is not sold or shared with overseas parties for purposes unrelated to your care.

We may share your personal information with:

• Other healthcare providers directly involved in your care (including HealthOne — see below)
• Our technology and systems providers, to the extent required to deliver our services
• Credit reference agencies and debt collection agencies, where necessary for account management (see our Terms of Trade)
• Government agencies and regulators, where required by law

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

This practice contributes to, and accesses healthcare information from, HealthOne — a South Island based secure electronic record that allows registered healthcare providers directly involved in your care to access information such as your test results, allergies, medications, GP summaries, and hospital information.

HealthOne strictly adheres to the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Access is only possible via an approved, highly secure healthcare information network, which is regularly audited and tested.

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information WeCare holds about you
• Correct any personal information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Make a complaint to the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached

To access or correct your information, contact us at feedback@wecarehealth.co.nz. We will respond to your request as required under the Privacy Act 2020.

If a privacy breach occurs that we believe has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as required under the Privacy Act 2020.

If you do not provide us with the personal information we require, we may not be able to complete your enrolment or provide ongoing services.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available at wecarehealth.co.nz/privacy. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This privacy policy is governed by New Zealand law.
