Is Drop-inCare Right for Me?
Drop-inCare is for acute illnesses and injuries that need same-day attention but aren't life-threatening. Enrolled WeCare patients can use Drop-inCare at all Drop-inCare clinics. Casual (non-enrolled) patients can be seen on weekends at Wigram.
Drop-inCare is a good fit if you:
- Have an acute illness or injury that needs seeing today
- Have a suspected break, wound, infection, or acute pain
- Need to be seen urgently, but it isn't a life-threatening emergency
Drop-inCare may not be the right fit if you:
- Have a life-threatening emergency - call 111 or go to the emergency department
- Have a single, non-urgent condition from our menu - try CareNow
- Have routine, ongoing, or non-urgent health needs - book GeneralPractice
If Drop-inCare isn't the right fit, we'll point you to the right care. For non-urgent conditions try CareNow, and for ongoing or complex needs book a GeneralPractice consult. In a life-threatening emergency, always call 111.

On-site x-ray and casting services at our Wigram clinic provide quick diagnosis and effective treatment for suspected fractures.

Observation Units
If you need monitoring or treatment like IV fluids, our on-site observation units mean we can care for you here, at no extra cost, often avoiding a trip to hospital.

How Drop-inCare Works:
Step 1
Drop in during opening hours. Enrolled patients anytime; casual patients Saturdays and Sundays at Wigram.
Step 2
An available advanced clinician assesses you. Waits depend on demand, but are generally much shorter than at dedicated urgent care clinics.
Step 3
Any tests are arranged or done on-site, and you're treated the same day, including X-ray and casting for fractures at Wigram.

Drop-inCare is available at our Wigram, Faringdon (Rolleston), and Ilam clinics in Christchurch. Enrolled patients are welcome during opening hours, and casual patients can be seen on weekends at Wigram. Fracture care, including on-site x-ray and casting, is available at Wigram.
