WeCare is proud to introduce Nurse Entry & Supported Transition (NEST) — our new graduate nurse program designed to support and grow the future of primary care nursing in Aotearoa New Zealand.
NEST is a structured, 12-month transition-to-practice program, carefully developed to support graduate nurses as they transition from student to primary care nurse
The NEST program includes:
-
Dedicated Nurse Educators
-
Weekly education and development sessions
-
A structured learning plan across the year
-
1:1 preceptorship
As one of Canterbury’s fastest-growing primary care providers, caring for more than 26,000 patients across multiple locations, WeCare is deeply committed to improving access to high-quality, nurse-led care. NEST plays a critical role in this vision by strengthening and sustaining the primary care nursing workforce of the future.
NEST reflects WeCare’s belief that investment in our early-career nursing workforce is fundamental to delivering high quality, accessible patient care, and we are proud of this substantial and deliberate investment into supporting the next generation of primary care nurses.
